| One of the funny
things about science is that teachers and professors talk a lot about the
scientific method, but nobody ever tells you how to discover something.
The scientific method is simply development of evidence to prove a hypothesis
(at least to statistical likelihood). There's really not much to talk about.
But how do you discover something new, something nobody has seen before?
The answer really isn't as complicated as it sounds. It may merely be a matter
of knowing a particular body of knowledge so that you will recognize something
that doesn't fit. That sounds vague. So let me tell you about what happened
one day in Western Australia. next |
